University of Vermont

At UVM, we think big and inspire others to do the same

The University of Vermont (UVM), founded in 1791, is a public ivy with world-class faculty, an exceptional learning experience and a vibrant campus community - all of which provide students the skills for success after graduation. The university’s campus is located in the city of  Burlington,Vermont, which is ranked as one of the most desirable places to live and study in the United States.

Our academic program combines faculty-student relationships most commonly found in a small liberal arts college with the resources of a major research institution. The university is home to 10,081 undergraduates, 1,360 graduate students, 457 medical students and 1,556 full- and part-time faculty. Located in Burlington, Vermont (America's #1 College Town -- Travel + Leisure), UVM's setting on the shores of Lake Champlain, between the Adirondack and the Green mountain ranges, gives a mountaintop perspective of all that's possible -- and offers the tools you will.

We welcome applications from international students and offer many programs and services to support their success. Students with strong English skills are invited to apply directly into one of the university’s 100 undergraduate programs. Students who meet admissions criteria but wish to have additional English language support are invited to apply to the UVM Global Gateway Programe.

For more than 200 years, UVM - a public ivy - has been educating students from across the U.S. and throughout the world, and preparing them for rewarding futures. From undergraduates, international and graduate students to medical, veterans and returning students - let our admissions process guide you on your academic journey.
