A mini-van was hired to carry the goods to be donated to the Weija Leprosarium where we were met by the staff administrator called John.
The patients of the Leprosarium were made of females, Males and
Children were called to the hall where the donation took place. The
Administer welcome the BCIE Team and gave a background to the Leprosarium. He further indicated that though they had 23 patients just at the Weija but items donated at the Weija are shared among other centers in Ankaful, Wa, Tamale etc.
Father Cambell, a Roman who has dedicated his life to supporting persons suffering from Leprosy told us that the Government gives Ghc1 to each patient as a living allowance for a day. He said the allowance was woefully inadequate and therefore donation of our nature goes a long way to support the Lepers.
We were later taken to an Art Gallery where a display of paintings by a Leper have been displayed for public view and for sale.
